The Parish Plan is a Community-led plan for the village. It complements the local Development Framework being developed by the Borough Council for the whole of Colchester. It gives a cogent local view of how the village should develop.

Every resident of the village has an opportunity to become actively involved in the formulation of the Parish Plan. The Plan will represent the majority views of the village as a whole.

The Plan will be based upon evidence gathered via questionnaires and local community consultation. This establishes local needs and aspirations, highlights opinion and priorities, thereby developing a vision for the future of the local community.

The Village Design Statement will give guidance to influence change and improve the physical qualities of the village. It gives a clear statement of what is special, unique and distinctive about the character of the village in terms of its appearance.
